Aly Edmondson is an interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and instructor from Lafayette, Indiana. Her artwork reflects on identity socio-physiologically, socio-medically, and socio-politically with an autoethnographic approach, which utilizes personal experience as evidence and qualitative data. Edmondson’s art practice studies body anthropology, analyzes and confronts constructed narratives and media representation, socially and systemically, of poverty, fatness, and gender, with deep considerations of the intersectional framework (Crenshaw).
